Routine vision plans reduce the cost of basic eye exams, contribute discounts to the purchase of glasses, and reduce the cost of fitting contacts and purchasing contact lenses — they focus on screening your eyes, checking vision and updating your prescription.
Medical insurance, on the other hand, covers eye problems related to health conditions, such as eye infections, injuries, diabetes, glaucoma, or other diseases that affect the eyes.
In short, vision plans cover routine care where we check to see if you are nearsighted, farsighted, have astigmatism or need reading glasses, while medical insurance covers eye health issues, testing and treatment.
Note that this is not an exhaustive list. Please call the office and we can assist you.
